Bite- Indian defence manufacturing licence free

Indian government is going to promote Indian defence manufacturing by allowing licence free manufacturing of certain items that are not on list that consists of items like tanks, airplanes, ammunition etc. Apart from this, dual use items that have both defence and civilian use will also be allowed to be manufactured by Indian private sector without the requirement of industrial licence. Defence items are covered under compulsory licensing under the Industries (Development and Regulation) Act, 1951.
